知能システム研究は今や記号処理的推論の枠を越え、知覚や行動といった 外的世界との相互作用や、複数システム間の協調・創発の概念なしには 考えられなくなってきています。画像理解分野においても能動的な 観測・行動や複数センサを用いた情報統合、分散協調処理が重要視 されています。一方、インターネットの普及に伴う情報メディア社会の 急速な膨張により、我々の生活する実世界とネットワーク上の 情報メディア社会との有機的な結合技術の開発が切望されています。
